  • Does my company need an Affirmative Action Plan?

Companies with 50 or more employees with $50,000 or more in federal contracts need to have an Affirmative Action Plan.

  • What sort of Affirmative Action Plan does my company need to maintain?

This depends on the type of federal contracts you have. Generally, supply and service contractors have a unique set of requirements that differ significantly from construction contractors.

To be clear, supply and service contractors are any business that provides and processes the purchase, sale, or use of general goods and services.

Construction contractors are, quite plainly, suppliers of construction services like home or commercial builders.

  • What are the benefits of a Human Resources department?

Simply put, Human Resources helps make sure your company is getting the most out of its employees. HR departments take an intricate interest in cultivating a healthy work environment that fosters productivity and employee satisfaction. Companies without effective HR sectors typically suffer from unhappy workers and sometimes liability lawsuits that end up hurting the business in the long term.

  • When does my company need to file an EEO-1 report?

    You must file when:

1.) Your company reaches 100 employees or more.

2.) If your company is owned or affiliated with a company of 100 employees or more.

3.) If your company has 50 or more employees and federal contracts/subcontacts of $50,000 or more.

4.) Your company employs 50 or more people and is an issuing and paying agent for US Savings Bonds or serves as a depository for government funds.

The purpose of an EEO-1 report is to inform the Equal Opportunity Employer Commisson that your company is in compliance with the law. This report provides information on the race, gender, and EEO classifications of your employees.
